MARX,,
PHILLIP L., of Pasadena, CA, died of cancer on Monday, May 16, 2005. Phil was formerly employed by Universal Pictures in Burbank, CA. The following is from his friend, Jovonna Mitchell -

I am a retired teacher of 30 years, an actor and singer. From my own family experience, I know how the landscape changes when someone passes away. I don't know who is acting in Phil's behalf? I do not know enough to write a proper obit. I met Phil in January (2005) when I moved here. We were computer "buddies." Phil did not take calls or visitors at the end. He really suffered. I used to cook for him, do dishes, take him to the doctor, etc. Phil told me he had no children. He has his car here (Corsica), computer, lots of video equipment, etc. Phil knew he was dying, brought me his favorite cookbooks at the end. He really knew how to make a computer talk. Basically, he stayed to himself. I am alone also and Phil made me think of what it might be like to die alone. He loved all of you and had your pictures on his wall. He loved to joke. He cooked a nice dinner for me to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. He opened a bottle of wine he had for 8 years. We both loved Jeopardy. I'll miss him.

Respectfully,
Jovonna Mitchell
Pasadena, CA
